Buddy Prete

Buddy Prete is a lifelong Milford resident and owner of Ultimate Interiors Floor Covering in 
Downtown Milford since 1992. Having grown up in the flooring business with his father Frank, 
Buddy continued in the business after graduating in 1993 from Fairfield University with a 
bachelor’s degree in finance. His involvement in the Milford community started at Jonathan 
Law with Key Club. After college, he was involved with logistics for The Annual Milford Oyster 
Festival for 6 years. That involvement led him to join Milford Rotary in 1997. During his first ten 
years of Rotary membership, he was site manager for Rotary’s successful Annual Milford 
Lobster Bake. 
Buddy is currently the President of the Milford Columbus Committee, a member of the Board of 
Directors for the Boys & Girls Club of Milford, a 26 year member of Milford Rotary Club, a 
member of the Milford Regional Chamber of Commerce, and a member and advisor to the 
Downtown Milford Business Association (DMBA). His past volunteer commitments include 
Treasurer for Milford Progress Inc. and liaison for Milford Progress to the Chamber of 
Commerce, 2012 member of the Downtown Plan of Conservation and Development, Milford 
Rotary Board Member, and a Milford Little League coach for both of his children, as well as a 
Foran High School volunteer coach. He has received various Rotary “Service Above Self” 
awards, and a Governors “Distinguished Service” citation. He is also a graduate of Milford’s 
Citizens Police Academy. In 2012, Buddy received the United Way “Spirit of Milford” Award and 
was named one of Connecticut Magazine’s “40 under 40”. 
Buddy’s involvement in the community stems from his deep commitment to the betterment 
and economic development of Milford. He prides himself on his willingness and ability to work 
with all parties for the common good. Buddy feels a positive business climate promotes a 
strong community for all residents.
Buddy and his wife Christina were married in 1997 and are the proud parents of Makenna, a 
2023 Fairfield University and 2019 Foran H.S. grad, who is a Financial Services Representative at 
Fidelity Investments, and Matthew, a 2022 graduate of Notre Dame West Haven and 2nd year 
Carpentry Apprentice with the NASCTF (North Atlantic States Carpenters Trade Fund).
